About Me
As a psychologist, I believe in providing a safe, nurturing and supportive space to allow individuals to share their vulnerabilities and for healing to occur. Life may sometimes throw us curveballs that overwhelm us. During such times, everyone can benefit from extra guidance and support from a trained professional. The therapy journey is unique to each individual, and I work flexibly to provide a range of therapeutic approaches to meet each client's needs.
In addition to providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults, I am passionate about working with individuals to explore their personal values to lead full and meaningful lives.
I conduct talks and trainings on mental health for healthcare professionals as well as clinical supervision for psychologists.
I can conduct therapy in English and Mandarin.
Work Experience
I worked in the public healthcare sector for more than 9 years providing individual psychotherapy to individuals facing various psychological issues such as depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
In addition, I worked in a multi-disciplinary team to provide specialised treatment for clients with eating disorders. Besides individual psychotherapy, I conducted groups such as the Motivational Enhancement Group and co-facilitated support groups for individuals facing eating disorders and their caregivers.
With a keen interest working with younger individuals, I set up and led a unit providing psychological assessments to young children born very premature/with very low birthweight at my previous workplace. At present, I provide consultations and clinical supervision to the psychologists running this service on a locum basis.
Currently, I provide psychological interventions to young children at their schools on a part-time basis. I also teach undergraduates at the Singapore University of Social Sciences as an associate lecturer, and was most recently a guest lecturer at the National Technological University of Singapore.
